Lemme ask ya -- Did controversy ever bring YOU any money !!??? I think not.
I'm not falling for the "controversy" crapola -- they made this all about politics when they put Bristol Palin on the show -- and then KEPT her there despite her having the lowest scores week after week after week.
Is she "the most hated or disliked 'star' ever?" I don't know and could care less.
But I'd bet she'll go down in history as the "star" that got the most people to TURN OFF DWTS and dump ABC !!!

"I love BRISTOL!!!! I use all my votes for her since she is the underdog. Although others were better than her but I want to see her advance to the next level.
You have to give her lots of credit since she is not a professional performer like the rest on the show.
It will come down to Brandy and Jennifer and I will then vote for Jennifer for the win!

Bristol is the "underdog" !!??? Maybe in some bizzarro parallel universe, but down here on Earth, a 20-year-old is NOT an "underdog" at all, especially when there's a 50-year-old with hardware in her spine that's out-dancing Bristol week after week after week !!!
You are trying to VOTE Bristol to "the next level" but she's supposed to be DANCING her way to the next level -- and she's not doing that.

Personally, I thought the standards would be pretty high, but it appears that I was WAAAAYY wrong !!
Overheard at Bristol Palin's interview:
Director: OK, Bristol -- Honey, can you see lightning !!???
Bristol: Yes.
Director: OK, Sweetheart -- you're half-way there!!
Bristol: I knew, er, -- I thought I could do it !
Director: OK, Baby, take you're time on this one -- it's a biggie.

"No, Idk if it's rigged. But I do think it's all about popularity.
Shawn Johnson won based on popularity (she wasn't that good)
Nicole won based on popularity ( Evan and Anna was better)
Erin Andrews wasn't good enough for the finals
Kelly Osbourne?? Come on! She didn't deserve to make it to the finals. I think everyone had sympathy for her!!! She sucked!
Jennifer Grey?? Yeah she is good but she doesn't deserve perfect tens almost everytime! She is not that good! Kyle Massey is better! I think Kyle does deserve all tens for once.
I do think Bristol is not that bad. She is a slow dancer and she doesn't dance 90 mph like that other dancers. Yeah she forgot her moves once but Jennifer and Dereck has fallen or tripped a few times, just like he did last year with Nicole.
Kurt and Florence got the boot too soon. Sorry! But true.

With that in mind, Bristol "got tens" in promoting DWTS. I have never seen so much talk about DWTS in my life until now. lol

I think Kyle & Bristol deserve to be in the finals but I think Brandy would have taken Jennifer's spot if Maks' dancing style wasn't so boring. He needs to be more creative in dancing. But then again, Brandy doesn't have a huge fan base. So who knows.

No, the dancing isn't "rigged".
The dancing is done right there in front of us, and we can see for ourselves just who WE think are the best dancers -- and we can ALSO get the scores given by the professional judges, ALL of whom are more qualified to judge the dancing competition than the general audience (you & me).
This thread is a big FAIL -- because there's not a word from you about if and how the dancing is "rigged". Just an "Idk" cop-out, followed by a bunch of crapola.

My boyfriend & I have been a big fan of DWTS for a long time & watching it every week religiously. But it's sad to say we will stop watching as we are extremely disappointed at the producers & judges. How can they allow this? First of all this is 'dancing with stars' & how does Bristol fits an star category? Doesn't a star status go to someone who actually have achieved something? Like the rest of the competitors? Secondly, shouldn't the producer be more concern about what kind of behavior they are promoting among young people? In this case allowing Bristol to become celebrated, not for her talents, passion or effort, but purely for her mom's political popularity. Well, I guess they are thinking about rating, but it will back fire. If I was Bristol & had an ounce of self respect I would pull out myself in stead of winning votes on my mother's account. People would have more respect for her if she does that. Finally, this is a show about how you improve your dance & entertaining ability through hard work, passion, commitment & positive behavior. Those are all the attributes missing in this girl. She was ready to quit & go back home 2 weeks ago. How could anyone see her performance & attitude in comparison to Kyle & put them in the same category? How could we celebrate her the same way? It's really sad & disappointing to people who are truly passionate & hard working, striving to go beyond ordinary. This is a wrong message to American people, esp. the young ones about hiding behind your parents instead of taking responsibility. Your show is not about one's true achievement any more, but about politics.

I'm an older person that DOES have an account, and I think Mr. Lennie is biased, too !!
Week after week after week, we watch that old codger give his opinions about his scores as truthfully as he knows how -- but with a strong bias against crappy dancing and un-inspired performances, such as we've recently seen leading up to the Bristol Palin fiasco.
Yes, Lennie's bias against mediocrity has served him well -- but alas, his valiant efforts fell victim to politically-motivated cyborterrorists that cheated the voting system to insure a win for their favorite T-bagger Republican politician's talentless offspring.
As for THIS older person, I'm biased, too !!
I'm biased against cheaters and any network that supports such abuses by allowing the contest to continue without corrective action being taken.
