Do you think that having some stars that have actual dance training and use dance in their professional careers will deter stars, in the future, from signng up. Last season with Mya and this season with Nicole, there has been a wide range of talent, and I was wondering if you thnk that some stars might not want to make themselves look bad by this.
Both seasons Len has tried to narrow that gap in his remarks and scores, but the professionals are clearly in a league of their own right from the start and it is only a matter of time (usually 5 or 6 weeks) before even Len has to give in.
What are your thoughts?

I don't think it would influence anyone's decision either way - the opportunity to learn ballroom seems to strike a deep chord with a lot of people, celebrities and "commoners" alike, lol. -And it's good exposure and a paycheck after all. What it really affects is how enjoyable it is for us, the audience. Personally, I would exclude anyone who uses any sort of dance or choreography in their profession, including figure skaters (Yeah, I know, it's an unpopular view, as much as it's said the two are "completely different", they're really not all that different. There are concepts for ballroom that will be well known to a figure skater, even if executed differently). Pro football players in certain positions (receivers, eg) also take ballet quite extensively in some coaching programs, so I would exclude them too if they've taken lessons in the last say....5 years. The spirit of the show is that these are supposed to be B- listers with little or no familiarity with dance learning on the fly and competing on a more-or-less level field, at least experientially. The ringers - and they're ringers - negate that. I'd also like to see them get back to scoring on the actual requirements of the dances. What I've seen pass for rumba and samba in the last couple of seasons really stretched the bounds of those definitions. There's nothing wrong with educating the audience about dance a little while they're at it.

The producers are facing a big problem, how are they going to top the cast of Season 10?
Keep in mind, the reason they don't get big A-list stars (ie. Angelina Jolie, Will Smith) is because the A-listers are the super busy ones that will never have time for it.
My guesses? Well they seem to be getting people that everyone is talking about. -Danica Patrick -Bret Michaels -Jesse James -Maybe a William's sister?
This list can go on and on...

How well could either Erin or Evan do the final jive or freestyle of Nicole and Derek? How well could Nicole and Derek do either Erin or Evan's finale dances? It was clear who should have been chosen as the winners and I'm happy the voters agreed. I have no idea how someone came up with a calculation that the audience lost 25% of the contribution because of an extra dance. Points are points - the judges just had more points to spread over the final three but the share of the contribution remained the same.
I agree that if I thought this show was a conspiracy to choose one person from the beginning to win I would not enjoy it either. I felt that way with Donny last year and thought we would see a repeat of the Olympian win this season. Evan was projected to win before the dancing started based on history. I think everyone expected to see Nicole and Evan in the finals - Nicole just outdanced him.

I always hated that the judges "rank" the 'Favorite Dance of the Season'.
Evan & Anna previously got a 30 on their Argetine Tango, and today they were ranked 2ndm only earning 28 points! UNFAIR!
The same with Erin & Maks! They got a 29 for their Argentine Tango, and got a 26.
And last year, Kelly Osbourne's amazing Viennese Waltz would have been a guarenteed 10 from Carrie Ann, BUT they had to "rank" it.
This is unfair! I say give them the points they deserve!

well I actually think fan votes shouldn't count for so much. I mean seriously why the heck did it take so long for buzz aldrin and Kate gosselin to get booted off? Because of the FANS. This is a DANCING show not a popularity contest,
However i do think it is suspicious that Derek ALWAYS gets the girl most likely to win. He never gets someone like Niecy Nash or Kelly Osbourne , the people not likely to win. They put him with the prettiest, girl with dancing experience.

I'm not sure I'm thrilled about Nicole winning. I think that because of her background she definitely had a distinct advantage over the other celebs. DWTS is a dance competition - to see how celebs do over the course of the season when they are taken out of their element. I don't think that celebs with that much dance experience should be allowed to be on DWTS b/c it goes against what the show is all about. Now when you get news correspondents, and NFL football stars, and astronauts - THAT ends up being a season that is worth watching. It was a huge let down to see Nicole and Derek be named the champs - where as Erin and Maks where obviously the most improved overall and the one celeb out of the final three that had the most improvement over the past 14 weeks. I'm utterly disappointed.

urgh i know I'm a bit late to get my comments in but seriously she was an awful dancer and this IS a show about dancing. if things had been fair Buzz and kate would have been the first to go. YES they are famous and Buzz is a national hero but it is a DANCING show judging your TALENT AT DANCING not how popular you are.

I am very disappointed with the judges on dancing with the stars!!! How can you give Evan a perfect score of 30 and not Nicole who clearly wows us each week!! Len even gave a 10 to Chad who didn't deserve it over Nicole!!! I mean OMG what does she have to do to get a perfect score of 30???? Personally, she was cheated and robbed the past 2 weeks with her score. She is being judged as a professional ballroom dancer and she isn't. I believe that just because she is a professional musical singer with so much dancing talent she is being discriminated against by being judged too harshly by far as the others. Evan is a professional ice skater with dancing talent too but they are clearly being judged on a different scale. They expect three times as much from the female performers than they do the males and I am sick of it!!!! Where is the male difficulty and techincal form besides supporting (the pros while they do their thing)and sliding around on the dance floor. Their female partners make them better than they are! GIVE NICOLE HER PROPS & CROWN SHE DESERVES!!!!!!!!!

I know it has been almost a month since the finals, and every time I think about how this season ended it still upsets me. I have never before watched any sort of competition, sporting or dancing or whatever, and truly felt like the winners were determined before the competition even began. A judges job is to be completely unbiased and objective and judge on what you see not on who you think the winner should be. ABC and the judges panel deserves any and all criticisizing they receive.

The only thing more annoying than Kate Gosselin this season was Brooke. I found her comments often irrelevent and insincere, and at times, just plain nosy such as romance rumors ala Chad and Cheryl and Maks and Erin. Love Tom and judges but please, powers that be, get rid of Brooke!

I have been on ABC's mb today and the general feeling is still anger and disappointment. So, the suggestion is in order to soothe waters with the fans over the controversy this year and in previous seasons to have a second chance season. That means you would bring back people who finished in second or third place or maybe not even that high, but were maybe just fan favorites to give them a second chance. Obviously, Evan & Anna are at the top of the list of returnees. What do you think and who would you like to see return? If you really feel strongly about this being done get on ABC's mb and let them know. Maybe they will actually do something about it. The more people who speak up the better.

What do you really think of the idea of a second chance season? There are a lot of people complaining about how this season ended, but aren't really looking for a resolution to the situation. To me the only way to resolve it is to let Evan dance again. The only way to do that is in an all star/second chance type scenario. Some have said, well I don't think he would do that, and maybe he wouldn't. I don't know, but he himself said after the quickstep that he wanted to do it all over again.

I thought her cha cha was good too. I'm hoping Nicole will win this season's Dancing With The Stars next Tues. night. She deserves to win!!

Well, we are at the final week of competition! Hard to believe that another season has come to an end. Before you know it we will be thinking of the possible cast for a new season.
This week each team will dance 2 dances on Monday night. These will be one of their choice (most pick a dance they want to improve) and the much anticipated Freestyle. On Tuesday night they will dance another dance and after the scores are added, the top two will dance one more last dance.
Should be a great night of competition. Who do you think will shine the brightest. Will the curse of the Freestyle haunt some of the teams, or will they rise to the challenge?

I'm on board with both of you on this one. Louis is amazing at choreography, and he always seems to have very good relationships with his partners....and I don't ever remember seeing him really argue with one of his partners. He has always been so supportive. I have watched him from season one as well and I always look forward to seeing him on the show. I also saw him once when they did the DWTS tour (he did a lot of the choreography for that too) and a total thrill is the only way I can describe it. I wish they would do the tour again!!
