 PROFESSION: ActressProfessional Partner: Mark Ballas Bio: Melissa was born in Smithtown, New York, on Long Island. Her mother, Paula, is a producer and talent manager, and her step father, Leslie Gilliams is a television executive, so it is no surprise that she was destined for a career in acting. She began that career as a child in commercials and later moved on to New York Theatre. Her next move was to television to work on a series on the Nickelodeon Network. Her star really rose when she moved to Network TV to star in "Sabrina, The Teenaged Witch". With the series behind her, she went on to star in several TV movies, and even tried a move to movie stardom, but this was not to be a success for her. In an attempt to shed herself of her "squeaky clean" image, she did a racy photo spread in a men's magazine, Maxim.
