Her singing voice was discovered while attending USC in Los Angeles. This led to singing jobs in hotels and a coffee house, where she ultimately signed a recording contract. Her first album was never released by Atlantic Records. She later signed with Epic records and her first album "On How Life Is" was released. Many will remember her huge hit from that album, " I Try", for which she won a Grammy in the category of Best Female Pop Vocal. Professionally, she has collaborated with many artists, but later albums have not seen the success of her first. Macy is a divorced mother of three: Aanisah, Tahmel, and Cassius. In 205 Macy opened up The Macy Gray Music Academy, where underpriveleged children and teenagers are given a chance to perform. Did Macy Gray drop the f-bomb?

I couldn't tell what the heck she said. She was talking and then all of a sudden, the audience was louder than her (how do they cover up cussing on live TV?) and the judges couldn't keep their s*** together to give the scores.
