She said it after the last season, too, and changed her mind, but
Julianne Hough claims she'll be "taking next season off" in
an interview with E!The two-time
DWTS champion -- with Apolo Anton Ohno in Season 4 and Helio Castroneves in Season 5 -- is stepping away to concentrate on her budding country-music career. Her self-titled album debuted at #1 on the Billboard country music chart last year, and she was recently named top new artist at the American Country Music awards show.
She told E!: "I want to make the best record I can and show everyone I’m committed and that’s where my heart is. It’s hard to do both and there’s a step you have to take," and told FOX News she wanted to "bring out the 'real' Julianne Hough."
Even though she's the most popular female
DWTS pro according to a DWTS.org poll, it sounds like Julianne may be done with
DWTS for good, at least as long as her music career stays hot. Maybe a combined tour with her boyfriend and
DWTS Season 8 partner
Chuck Wicks?
Of her decision to come back for one more season, Julianne told FOX News, "I wasn't planning to come back this season because I wanted to focus on my music. But I went back and it's been so much fun to dance with my good friend who happens to be my boyfriend." Isn't that nice?
