I'm having a hard time putting my finger on this season. I thought Donny and Kelly were two of the most fun people they've ever had on the show.
But then Mya never really caught on despite being the best dancer by far. And the rest of the cast wasn't all that engaging, either. There were so many weak links. Maybe it was just the bigger cast that made it feel like it could have been better. I'd love to see them go back to 12 or 13 couples instead of 16. It felt like this season didn't even really get started until the last few weeks. Any thoughts?

Wow. If there was ever a time for Mya NOT to listen to Dmitry, it was for the freestyle dance. I was so bored. It was technically good. But she pulled a Gilles!

First off, Mark vs. Chuck, who won?
I think Mark kicked Chucks 'bleep'. (Macy Gray ;] ) Then, Michael vs. Jerry, They both looked stiff, but I think Michael did it. Jerry hasn't danced since 2006. Lastly, Joanna vs. Cloris, Jerry, The Woz: Oh boy did I want to see the Woz beat her! I was cracking up through the whole thing! Cloris didn't even dance through the Mambo Marathon, she just sat there and looked at the audience!

My wife and I have watched DWTS since it originally aired and this year has definitely been the worst, but more importantly I now do not understand the intent of the show. As my subject matter indicates I now question the show's intent, but am more than ever inclined to believe it's design is for ratings rather than to select the person that in the end demonstrats the best dancing skills. Nothing against Donny for he is an entertainer as he has been for 46 years and did improve his dancing skills tremendously over the weeks, but he did not compare to Mya. Also what about Natalie Coughlin, she may have been the second and possibly best dancer if not ejected in Week 5 by the home vote. I don't know the selection process for the stars but it would be nice maybe if the home vote is going to control, which is seems it is going to do that the stars be selected with a more even distribution of popularity so in the end if the progress evenly with their dancing skills each may have an opportunity to win rather than knowing regardless of how well they dance they won't win because they will lose the popular vote. On the other hand if the show is just a rating show then I would just like to know so I won't waste my time viewing next year.

OK...in the past, Mya has been given some harsh criticisms and it was usually about the choreography, of which she had no control...it was Dmitry. So here she is in the finals...they are doing the usual background story, and instead of more of the rehearsal of their free dance, they show Mya and Dmitry going back and forth about what the freedance should be about...with emphasis on "In the end, I decided to go with Dmitry's idea".
Let's face it, she is no shrinking violet....I think she could have swayed him more if she really wanted to. I really think that she was setting up a situation to blame Dmitry in the event the dance was not well received. You don't have to be a Philadelphia lawyer to know that the dance they did was not outstanding...and I think she realized it pretty quickly, and I also think that she tried to dot her 'I's" and cross her "T"'s" by making it clear that this dance was not her choice. Other opinions?

Wow, that was as big a fall as you'll see on DWTS. Such a bummer.... their Freestyle was going great before then.
BUT, they handled it as well as they could have, and they were totally gracious about it in the interviews afterward. I was glad the judges were so nice about it, too. Kelly won't win now, but getting to the finals was a huge win already.

I can't stand Mya. She is a wonderful dancer, needless to say. Just to look at that phony smile as if to say "Oh Me" (shock, shock, shock), she makes me sick to my stomach. Wasn't she a showgirl or in the "business in someway????? I thought this was for people who didn't know how to dance???? And don't tell me she hasn't danced before ! ! ! Because that is plain Bull. It is a great show and I have never missed a season and she is the ONLY one I can say that really makes me sick ! ! ! She looks the type that if you turn your back, she will stab it, while smiling that phony smile !!! Love her partner ! !
Still a loyal fan of the show, just had to see if I were the only one who sees what I see....... Thanks

You know, I'm not sure Donny can make up for this one. Sure, he has fan support, but he'd need to catch Kelly, who also seems to have really strong fan support. I hate to say it, but I think he may be done.
But wouldn't it be interesting if Mya's fan votes were low enough to put her in some kind of danger, despite the crazy good scores? I don't even know if that's mathematically probable, but I'm looking for some kind of drama here...
