I was not surprised @ all!Palin may have stirred up some controversy, however Jennifer Grey was the best dancer.Contrary to ABC belief that the Palin wave brought them more viewers. I strongly believe Jennifer did. Dirty Dancing facebook has millions of fans, they confirmed they saw a surge in their fansite after Jennifer went on DWTS.Am just so happy the best & most deserving couple won.Jennifer & Derek are the best of the best on DWTS!

I think this is my last season watching & participating with DWTS. Not only did they eliminate someone with dancing skill attained on the show. But tonight after one vote from my telephone I received the "Thank you for calling but you have reached your limit from this number"! I promise you, 1 call!

You are not alone in your complaints, it is all over this website mostly from people that tried to vote for Brandy the night before her elimination. The voting has to be fair, as it is a huge part of the shows allure. On Monday night before the finale I thought I would just try and see if the phone lines were open before they were supposed to be and SURE ENOUGH, I was able to cast my votes about 10 minutes before the show even went on the air. ABC better figure it out-I am reading alot of angry blogs on alot of different issues.

DWTS producers said they have heard from the public but that they are not going to change how the voting is done. They might as well have said that DWTS is a popularity contest. Why go on DWTS if clearly the best dancers are not going to be rewarded ? If I were given the choice, the final would be between Brandy, Jennifer & Kyle. I have nothing against Bristol, she is very likeable. However, if I were given the say so, Bristol would have ended up # 5. Seeing that DWTS is going to be firm in their rules for the show, maybe Bristol should win, and then let's see what the response is from the voters !!!

As a beginner in ballroom dancing, out of everyone on the show I have had the most encouragement from watching Bristol on the show. She came onto the show with no experience or even background experience and has done phenominally well. She's had no training prior to this in any related sports (ie Cheerleading, Martial Arts, or any sports), no training in acting to aid her in getting into a character, and as far as I no no training in musicality either. We wont even get into her getting beat on by the public/media a few years ago which was not only wrong but unethical and immoral on the part of those who participated in attacking her and her values.
Bristol is a beautiful dancer and needs to keep up dancing after the show is done. I think out of everyone on the show she needed to get this far more than anyone else. She has really started to blossom I just hope she hits her peak in dancing during the finals so we can all see and enjoy that moment. Bristol if you're reading this dont dance for anyone else at the finals but you, enjoy the moment, feel like a princess, remember you are a beautiful dancer and have fun dancing with Mark!
As far as the votes on the show go, I think the public may be speaking up and letting ABC know we'd like to see more people we can relate to on the show who haven't had their moment to shine in life yet. Up until Bristol all the other stars have had their moment in time. It might be time for a bit of a change up. Put stars with everyday people and have the professionals coach both or pin everday people against the stars in competition. Perhaps choosing those who have some sort of background that would help them though, ie martial artists, acting students, something. I think part of why Bristol is loved and voted for is because we can relate to her, she's the girl next door when you dont look at her being Sarah Palin's daughter. We all know someone like her. Keep dancing Bristol!

"To SlikLizrd What is wrong with you.. That your children did or didn't get pregnant has little to do with your parenting skills they just were lucky. To wish someone to break their leg is wrong that there is not even a right in sight. What has any of your comments got to do with a dancing program anyway. Your kids would never qualify to be on this show as you are not a celebrity and neither are they. Bristol happens to come from a family that is in the spotlight and the show asked her to join their dancing teams. I think she should win as out of all of the contestants she is the only one who started out from zero experience. She not only has had to go through this rigorous training and stress of being in the spotlight with a national audience. She has also had to deal with the viperous haters like you and that is a lot to put on a young woman's plate, but she has tenacity and has stood up and moved forward. Most girls her age would have run for the hill to avoid that trauma. I find that an admirable quality in her and enjoy watching her improved dancing each week. " Shellena99, I have said more than once, this site is for DWTS fans to voice their opinions, make comments about the show or the dancers (club feet, whatever). We should not be disrespectful to other posters for voicing their opinion whatever they may be. FREEDOM OF SPEECH is one of the things our vets and active duty personnel have fought and are fighting for. If not, you would not be able to be on this site talking s**t. Let's keep it real. Let's not attack each other. Let's make our comments about the SHOW/DANCERS, not personal!!!

This country is going downhill. Ignorance, lack of class, uneducated, backward people lacking merit, intelligence, and ability are ruining us. The same is happening with politics. Christine O'Donnell, Sarah Palin, Bristol's "baby daddy" and others are making this country look like white trash. Bristol Palin is one of the worst dancers and she is overrated each week. Obviously, there is outside influence. Far better dancers have been voted off. This is the first time on DWTS that the worst dancer has been allowed to stay on for so long. This is going to kill the show. I have stopped watching. Florence Henderson was superior to this animal killer. If it were not for Mark, there would be no dancing. He has to work 10 times as hard to make it look as if there is activity on the dance floor. This teen activist, sexually active teen , that is, is being rewarded where others would be disparaged and criticized for hypocrisy and irresponsible behavior. Instead, she is rewarded and applauded. This is disgusting.
Definite need to change judging so this never happens again. What is the point in the others working so hard, if Palin only needs to show up?

"I love BRISTOL!!!! I use all my votes for her since she is the underdog. Although others were better than her but I want to see her advance to the next level. You have to give her lots of credit since she is not a professional performer like the rest on the show. It will come down to Brandy and Jennifer and I will then vote for Jennifer for the win! No Im not a right winger but a left wing liberal so there!
GO BRISTOL! " Bristol is the "underdog" !!??? Maybe in some bizzarro parallel universe, but down here on Earth, a 20-year-old is NOT an "underdog" at all, especially when there's a 50-year-old with hardware in her spine that's out-dancing Bristol week after week after week !!! You are trying to VOTE Bristol to "the next level" but she's supposed to be DANCING her way to the next level -- and she's not doing that. The thread title is right -- It's WAAAAYY past time for Bristol to be gone !! By-the-way -- I've NEVER heard of a person refer to THEMSELVES as "a left-wing liberal" -- which means I don't believe you for an instant !! So there !!

I am a nurse, each week our entire floor watches as we can and we all vote. After this last week, we have decided as a group to stop watching DWTS- we have watched it since the first season. The reason? We have nothing against Bristol Palin but this is a show about who makes the most progress to become the best dancer. While Bristol has improved, she cannot hold a candle to Audrina (we did not like her either), Brandy, Jennifer or even Kyle. Not to be mean but anyone can see that shes a poor dancer and there is no reason for her to still be here unless the voting has been tampered with. This is a show we have enjoyed immensely but as it is obviously rigged, its a waste of our time and money to watch and vote. And while the producers continue to make excuses for her and no effort to recognize the obvious and correct the situation- that its not skill keeping her here and letting talented dancers go, we feel that DWTS has lost the quality, grace and integrity it once had. Its sad, this has become such a part of our Monday and Tuesday nights we hate to see it come to an end. Best wishes to all. Tawnya Hale

RE: DWTS- Bristol Palin- our unit will no longer be watching or voting

My boyfriend & I have been a big fan of DWTS for a long time & watching it every week religiously. But it's sad to say we will stop watching as we are extremely disappointed at the producers & judges. How can they allow this? First of all this is 'dancing with stars' & how does Bristol fits an star category? Doesn't a star status go to someone who actually have achieved something? Like the rest of the competitors? Secondly, shouldn't the producer be more concern about what kind of behavior they are promoting among young people? In this case allowing Bristol to become celebrated, not for her talents, passion or effort, but purely for her mom's political popularity. Well, I guess they are thinking about rating, but it will back fire. If I was Bristol & had an ounce of self respect I would pull out myself in stead of winning votes on my mother's account. People would have more respect for her if she does that. Finally, this is a show about how you improve your dance & entertaining ability through hard work, passion, commitment & positive behavior. Those are all the attributes missing in this girl. She was ready to quit & go back home 2 weeks ago. How could anyone see her performance & attitude in comparison to Kyle & put them in the same category? How could we celebrate her the same way? It's really sad & disappointing to people who are truly passionate & hard working, striving to go beyond ordinary. This is a wrong message to American people, esp. the young ones about hiding behind your parents instead of taking responsibility. Your show is not about one's true achievement any more, but about politics. Sorry to say good-bye

Theories about Season 11 Final Results

Here's the ABC page on how voting works:
http://abc.go.com/shows/dancing-with-the-stars/about-voting
The most interesting part is that judges and the public get equal shares in voting:
In the Dancing with the Stars Results Show, the couple with the lowest combined score from judges and viewer votes will be eliminated from the competition. The scoring is divided evenly between the judges and the viewers at home, ensuring unpredictable outcomes at the end of every show. When the final two couples remain, the ultimate dance-off will determine who wins the trophy.
So I think there could be two outcomes, the first being that the public vote is so overwhelmingly for Bristol that she wins, no matter what the judges come in as, or the producers of the show decide that there would be too much backlash from viewers if she wins, so the judges votes come in a little higher for Jennifer/Kyle and lower for Bristol...
What do you guys think? Any other theories on how this season could play out?

Brandy's dancing abilities are far superior to Bristol Palin. Don't know how or who rigged the show, but I am not watching this show anymore. In the past, contestants were truly judged from the dancing judges ...not how many phone calls they received. Everyone who disagrees with the elimination of Brandy should speak up.

My Mother has watched this Show for Years. She convinced me to Watch this Show this Season. I truly believed the Show was about "Dancing with the Stars," so, was confused at the Start as to why Bristol Palin was on the Show, she is NOT a Star!!! Then, week after week, much better Dancer's are being eliminated and Bristol Palin stays, which should have been eliminated after Week One. Viewers are Outraged over all of this and I am hearing and reading over and over that loyal Viewer's will no longer watch this Show because it is not based on Dancing, it is based on Politics and other than Dancing!!! Brandy and Maks were Awesome and at the top or near the top of the Leader Board every week, Bristol and Mark were at the bottom of the Leader Board every week. It is obvious that Bristol's Mother, Sarah Palin and all her Teabagger friends were keeping her in the Show, this is based on being a Republican/Teabagger vs who is the Best Dancer!!! Brandy and Maks danced circles around Bristol and Mark, they definately should have been in the Finals!!! Voting should be 3/4 from the Judges and 1/4 from the Public Viewers to Prevent this from EVER happening again, otherwise, this Show will be short lived, viewers are Disgusted as to what happened tonight!!! Bristol should concede to Brandy and Maks because she knows why she is where she is!!! Something needs corrected before the Finals next week, viewers are so Disgusted!!!

Republicans up to their dirty tricks - stuffing the ballot box. Sign in under numerous email names to jack up Bristol's viewer scores. We can expect more of the same if Sarah is ever re-elected to office. I feel cheated that the graceful and beautiful Brandi won't be in the finals and that awkward untalented Bristol will be. It's a travesty. Maks said he came to this country where people could have a vote. But democracy is one person = one vote. This situation is where one aggressive determined Republican can "cheat" & commandeer hundreds of votes. The system is broken.

For all the People that use the lame reasoning that others should lighten up because DWTS is only entertainment. I'll point out that this is a 'Dance Competition", and being a "DC" the reason one competes is to strive to perform better weekly than the other competitors, so as to ultimately win the contest. So these competitors contribute an immense of time in quarter of a year, and certainly have an incalulable emotional investment in what they do. And the viewing audience in turn has that emotional involvement as well, not unlike any competitive event such as athletics. Without the emotional tie with one's chosen favorite, there would be no motivation to watch and cheer (yes my Wife cheers) for them. Why do you think that DWTS generates the ratings that they do? Why do football teams fill stadiums with people that pay outrageous sums of money for the priviledge to watch and cheer for their team do? It is because they choose to have an emotional investment in the outcome. Entertainment? Maybe so, but as in all contests the cream is expected to rise to the top, and not be denied by a bad call.

Bruno has to go. He is full of himself and was way out of line with regard to his comment about Michael Bolton. Granted Michael wasn't a very good dancer, however, he wasn't the worst in all of the eleven seasons. The rude comments were an issue when Billy Ray Cyrus danced and he was very vocal about it and I have to believe he said something to the produces because in the following seasons the rude comments from the judges subsided. Len did the right thing by calling Bruno on the carpet with his rude comment and score of 3 for Michael. It's even worse now that I heard Michael's 90 year old mother flew in for the show. This was week 2 not week 8 Bruno needs to make a public apology and keep comments like that to himself if he continues to be a judge but I believe he needs to be replaced.........

An apology would be in order because such a comment was not in keeping with the spirit of the show. "The worst" is a different contest that was not up for judging at that time.

I started this thread for one reason - and it's not the obvious one. The best dance of the first week, amongst the stars, was obviously Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough - though Rick and Cheryl were real close. Kyle and Lacey were, perhaps, the most entertaining; but I wonder how much of it was performance versus actual dance. But the best dance overall was tonight's opening pro dance to Santana. That was amazing! Perfectly choreographed! If watching that doesn't make a person want to dance, nothing will.
