I always hated that the judges "rank" the 'Favorite Dance of the Season'.
Evan & Anna previously got a 30 on their Argetine Tango, and today they were ranked 2ndm only earning 28 points! UNFAIR!
The same with Erin & Maks! They got a 29 for their Argentine Tango, and got a 26.
And last year, Kelly Osbourne's amazing Viennese Waltz would have been a guarenteed 10 from Carrie Ann, BUT they had to "rank" it.
This is unfair! I say give them the points they deserve!

well I actually think fan votes shouldn't count for so much. I mean seriously why the heck did it take so long for buzz aldrin and Kate gosselin to get booted off? Because of the FANS. This is a DANCING show not a popularity contest,
However i do think it is suspicious that Derek ALWAYS gets the girl most likely to win. He never gets someone like Niecy Nash or Kelly Osbourne , the people not likely to win. They put him with the prettiest, girl with dancing experience.

I think everybody did a great job last night and for the most part the marks were spot on. Sadly, I feel Chad has danced his last dance, but what do you think?

Well, Kate may have given birth to eight, but she will never see that number from a judge. Did anyone notice that Tom Bergeron said Kate Gosselin, star of "Kate Plus Eight"? Did she actually get her own show? I knew that she had wanted to continue on her own, but Jon didn't want the kids on TV anymore. Has this all changed?

So tonight the teams are going to be dancing two individual dances. Could be a little tougher for them. They are going to do dances that are themed for the 50's, 60's, 70's etc. and the future. Last time they did this it was really good.
Who do you think will have to step up their game tonight? I think Niecy is going to have to have the two dances of her life....but we will see.

OK, so I was looking at this costume and I was thinking that if Nicole actually designed this, her taste is clearly all in her mouth. Why would anyone put an oversized dust ruffle on their chest? Very un flattering. And if this skirt was cut any lower she would be in peril of showing the world her Brazilian wax. http://www.dwts.org/photo/9609112/Nicole+Scherzinger+and+Derek+HoughThe whole costume looks like it was ill fitting.

So here we are at week 6 already! Tonight will be Kate-free, so I am looking forward to some really good dancing. The Stars are designing the costumes for the dances, but I wonder how much they really design them...should be fun anyway.
Also, this is the first time they will be dancing two dances in one week. The teams will dance either the Argentine Tango, or the Samba. Then they will all be dancing to a group Swing. Really looking forward to seeing them dance together. Could you just imagine if Kate was still here and she had to learn two dances...scarey to even think about!

This is week 5 and most of the remaining teams are improving ...and trying new tricks and more complex steps....except for Tony and Kate. At this point it is looking very obvious that poor Tony is chorepgraphing "dumbed-down" program for Kate. Others are advancing and she still can't even seem to grasp the simplest of steps. I was glad to see that the judges were actually giving her an "honest" evaluation tonight and not sugar coating it.

"Oh yeah, I think the problem is her top half (stomach and up). I think her feet were hitting the steps good, its just her arms look all flapped, and she's stiff sometimes.
" Oh, Brandon, I have to respectfully disagree with you on this one. I think that she is pretty much a nightmare form the hips down...and up. She is stiff and there is no flow to the movements...it is almost robotic. To her credit, she did seem to follow Tony a bit better this week, but there again, she depends on him too much. At the end of her dance each week she looks at him with that same look, "Did I do good, Tony...huh, did I...huh huh?".

It is very obvious that Kate is on this show for RATINGS! She is at the tail end of the show for each of her performances and and the tail end of the results, they know people are watching her, wanting her to fail. People are watching because she is like a train wreck! Her performance was embarassing and very hard to watch. I own a hair salon, a place where people gossip about everything 'Hollywood', and I haven't heard of a single person who wants her on or who has voted FOR her. Shame on you DWTS and ABC, send her home to be with her kids.....something she is always saying is a priority!

I get it - really I do - if you don't get ratings the show doesn't come back next year, but honestly I've been watching since the opening credits of season one and with all the ratings-driven changes, I think the show has lost some of it's original charm. It supposed to be a bunch of "oh my God where'd they dig him/her up" B- of C-list schlubs with no recent or relevant dance background trying to channel their inner Fred or Ginger. It's gotten so far away from that (plus all the add-ons: Country Line Dancing is NOT ballroom! What the????) Poor Len's the only one who ever mentions the actual technical requirements of the dance and he gets roundly booed. It's not strictly a fanciful popularity contest, people. I believe that show was called "Celebrity Death Match."

Oh, Snap! So when it was down to the bottom two; Niecy and Louis and Aiden and Edyta, I was super nervous! I was hoping my ten calls for Niecy and Louis would pay off, and BAAM!!! They stayed on! As soon as Tom said that Aiden was off and not Niecy I stood up and screamed louder than a man would during the winning touchdown for the Super Bowl... (maybe not THAT loud) I was so excited, and then my dad came out of the hallway, jokingly asking,"Where's the fire?" Haha! Man, wait 'til they win... Europe will hear it! Or if they get voted off (which they won't) I would cry all that night and Wednesday!

OK, I knew Kate had more pokers in the fire...because you know that she has 8 children to feed (in case you hadn't heard more than a million times), but she is putting out a book this week, "I Just Want You To Know". Also, Brandon and I noticed a comment that Tom Bergeron made on the first show "Kate Gosselin, star of Kate Plus Eight", and we were wondering if she had gotten her own show....question answered, yes. It is not going to be called "Kate Plus Eight", but rather, "Twist of Kate". Are you ready for this??? She is going to be going to be travelling around the country offering people advice on how to improve their lives....EXCUSE ME!!! She has not done such a hot job with her own life, so what can she possible offer someone elses? I just pitty the poor men in the households that she visits....I can tell you right now, that they will all be wrong.
I am anxious to see how she casually brings up her new book and the new show....I am sure it will be about as casual as an atom bomb.

"I disagree. Niecy is clearly a great person. I like her. But let's face it, Niecy is BIG. She has difficulty moving well due to her weight. Now, don't get all PC on me. Hear me out. In order to dance effectively you have to be able to move quickly, precisely and effectively to express the dance. More weight means less precision. She is moving the mass of her body around better than anyone I've ever seen--like the non-professional salsa dancing Latino women who tend to be quite heavy--but I think the scores are correct in Niecy's case." I made that post on the first week when she did the Cha Cha Cha....and I really felt that she didn't get full credit when you compared her to others...however, having said that, I totally agree with you in this weeks performance. As others are progressing, her weight does seem to be impeding her.

Casting...Should The Producers Be More Cautious?

I was just thinking that the producers might actually want to be more careful when they are casting a season. Specifically, I am referring to this season's more than obvious mistake of casting Kate Gosselin. The fear that she shows everytime that she takes the dance floor is painful and very uncomfortable to watch. One of the things that I have come to enjoy in watching this show is seeing the Celebs having a good time doing something that is totally out of their comfort zone. Kate takes it too seriously and as the judges have said frequently, "You are not a performer". Maybe they SHOULD stick to performers. Your thoughts?

I like that a person like Buzz can participate and the producers look for legends like him. That mere fact that Buzz didn't walk away from the invitation is a telling fact. He's an incredible guy who isn't afraid to compete at any level at any age. And being mean to him.HA! The man was in the military and an astronaut. Do you think he doesn't know what 'mean' is? Heck, he probably endured more 'mean' than any poster here. He can take it. AND he did great! His performance was lower level and he knew it. But he took the challenge.
Further, for the producers, it must be difficult to get people to commit such a block of time to a grueling athletic competition who are novices to begin. I'd love to see more A-list actors/actresses. But, given what I've seen in the news, they want money unless it's for an earthquake that has lots of media attention and equals big bucks in marketing themselves free--a la GC.

I agree. People do judge Pam on her sexpot appearance and behavior. Sometimes it seems that she doesn't know anything but to slide up and down the man she is standing beside. We all make judgments based on a person's appearance. It's human.
However, I agree that Pam is turning it around since the 1st show. I was actually impressed by her dancing this week. Although I wished that the costumers had made a better choice for her. The costume got in the way of the expressiveness. She conducted herself much more seriously. I could see her trying very hard not to do the sexpot thing that is so ingrained in her. She danced well, took the judges comments seriously (ballroom not bedroom) and frankly was a lot better than I or my husband expected. Objectively, she has danced better than Kate. Poor Kate, God bless her, has no talent at all. BTW--I'm a dancer. I can say that.
